We are winning, folks.
At least, if you are a Pittsburgh Steelers fan (which I unfortunately am not).
But it is a quick and awesome start, nonetheless.
Amid outrage, backlash, and boycott threats aimed at the NFL and its 200-or-so spineless players, coaches and staff members who chose to disrespect our flag, anthem, and country, one team has had enough.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the major highlights of the week, with unique headline after unique headline dominating the news. From hero and veteran Alejandro Villanueva standing alone for the anthem, to Coach Tomlin berating him for it, they surely have had their fair share of disasters amidst this protest turmoil fueled by leftist ignorance.
But there is hope.
Steelers Center Maurkice Pouncey stated in a presser just yesterday that he and his entire team “Will be standing for the National Anthem.”
Two questions here:
- Is he lying just to get people who are threatening to boycott to watch and see what happens?
- If he is sincere, and the Steelers do all stand, will it create a domino effect throughout the league where other teams follow suit?
I suppose only time will tell.

Personally, I am still boycotting until ALL this nonsense stops.
According to CBS:
After facing backlash about standing in the tunnel during the national anthem last Sunday, Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey says the team will stand this Sunday.
“I promise you one thing, this week we will all be standing out there for the national anthem. Trust me,” Pouncey said Wednesday.
Pouncey says he expects the entire team to be on the field for the anthem.
“As far as I know it’s 100 percent participation,” Pouncey told reporters. “We love this country. It’s America. We know there are injustice in this world, but to me, personally, football is football and that’s what we need to approach it as.”
What so you think of this new, seemingly positive, but yet-to-be-seen development in this story?
