The House has officially voted through two major bills that will keep America safe from criminal illegal migrants. The first is known as “Kate’s Law” which seeks to impose much harsher penalties on those that come back into the US after they have already been deported. And the second is a bill that will remove Federal funding from cities (Sanctuary Cities) that refuse to cooperate with Immigration officials in the cases of convicted felons.
These two bills were a major part of President Trump’s immigration reforms on which he campaigned. All that’s left now is for the Bills to go before the Senate. With majority support in the House, many are speculating that it will be a close vote but will still pass without major amendment.
It is unfortunate that with “Kate’s Law”, 157 Democrats and 1 Republican voted against it. Kate’s Law is named after a young girl who was murdered by an illegal immigrant who had already been deported 5 times! This was clearly someone who had no respect for America and no respect for human life. Why would anyone vote against this?
There was a much narrower margin of victory for the Bill to stop funding for Sanctuary Cities who refuse to cooperate with ICE. This has been one of the most divisive issues, not just of the Presidential campaign, but in Social Media and even daily life. But the fact remains, that if someone commits crimes in the US, they are not a benefit to the country, they are a detriment. If a city (and of course the taxpayers of that city) want to spend their own money on housing people who have committed crimes against them and their communities, that’s one thing…But why should the rest of America pay for their follies?
As reported on Fox News:
One bill passed by the House would deny federal grants to sanctuary cities and another, Kate’s Law, would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States.
Kate’s Law, which would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States and caught, passed with a vote of 257 to 157, with one Republican voting no and 24 Democrats voting yes.
President Trump called the bill’s passage “good news” in a tweet, adding “House just passed #KatesLaw. Hopefully Senate will follow.”
The other bill, which would deny federal grants to sanctuary cities, passed with a vote of 228-195 with 3 Democrats voting yes and 7 Republicans voting no.
If this fails to pass in the Senate there will be a backlash. The American people will not forget who voted for what when it comes time to re-elect our Representatives. The purpose of government is to protect the citizens…This is their main purpose. Can anyone give one answer as to how allowing already deported criminals re-entry protects US citizens?
Watch the vote carefully and see who is on the side of protecting America and who is really in thrall to the Globalist cartels that already control so much of our lives.
